We invite you to world of exotic adventures: Dogsledding under the northern lights, Hurtigruta, Lofoten and spring on Svalbard. You will get a unique competence in guiding and tourism in the Arctic.
This is the course for the one with big dreams, but little interest in sleeping outdoors freezing in the winter. We travel through Finnmark and northern Norway, get close encounters with Finland and Russia and the wonderful spring on Svalbard.

Svalbard
Experience Svalbard during the time between winter and spring. The light has returned and we are choosing from a grand menu of Arctic travel experiences.
Hurtigruta Lofoten - Kirkenes
It is not without reason that the Hurtigruta is called the world's most beautiful sea voyage. From the steep peaks of Lofoten you cruise through the archipelago of Troms with its glaciers, before encountering the magic of the North Cape. Enjoy the view while sitting in the cruise ship's hot tub with your new friends.
Reindeer hurding on Varangerhalvøya
In the open tundra of Varangerhalvøya, the reindeer herding culture has rich and long traditions. We participate in the herding and separation of reindeer, and participate in re-labeling and processing of raw materials.
Finnmarksløpet - checkpoint
Finnmarksløpet is Europe's longest dog sled race with great international media coverage the race plays an important role for the tourism industry in the Arctic. The course Arctic Tourism is in charge of the checkpoint Øvre Pasvik and will experience this intense event from the inside.
Finland and the Sami Finnmark
In September you will meet Santa Claus himself in Finland, and on this round trip in Finnmark and Northern Finland you will learn about Sami tourism, Finnish Northern Lights tourism, we will visit Santa Claus destination at the Finnish city of Rovaniemi and you will get to know both Sami and Finnish culture.
Kirkenes Snowhotel
Kirkenes Snowhotel is the largest tourism operator in the region. The Arctic tourism class get a good insight into the business with lectures and helping out with the various offerings like husky hike, fishing for king crab by boat in the fall and snowmobiling in winter. Introduction to work in the restaurant department, reception and guide activities. After Christmas, students get to choose which department they will work with for a week.

Teacher Arctic Tourism - Svalbard
Yngve is passionate about local food, and teaches this in his class Arctic cuisine. He spends a lot of time outdoors, often looking for anything edible. At Arctic Tourism, Yngve wants you to learn about tourism in a way that makes you more knowledgeable.
